Sewing Basics: Patchwork Zipper Pouch

Sewing Basics: Patchwork Zipper Pouch (November)

Wednesday November 13th, 6-9pm

Join Michelle Abegg for one beginner sewing class and finish with a million reasons to use this lovely zipper bag!  This is the perfect class for the beginning seamstress who is comfortable setting up and threading a sewing machine.  Students will create a simple patchwork design for the front of their pouch, then Michelle will cover using interfacing for stability, inserting a zipper, and lining your bag.

While prior sewing experience is not required to take this class, you must be comfortable threading and operating a sewing machine. Don't know how to use a sewing machine? Take our Sewing Machine Basics class!

Class fee includes:

  • 3 hours of instruction

  • 14” nylon zipper (you may bring your own if you are particular about the color but we have a nice rainbow to choose from!)

  • cotton batting

  • Use of our cutting, marking and measuring tools

  • Use of our Janome sewing machines

  • Water & snacks

  • 15% of your materials purchases on class day (come in a little early and let us help you pick out your discounted materials)

Required Materials:

  • 3-6 quarter yard cuts of cotton or cotton/linen blend fabrics

  • 1/4 yard Pellon SF 101 Shape-Flex interfacing

  • matching thread
