Patchwork Basics: 2x4 Blocks

Patchwork Basics: 2x4 Blocks
45.00

Tuesday, September 25th 6-9pm

Join Brittney for an evening of patchwork and learn the basics for creating 2x4 blocks.  Brittney will share tips getting accurate cutting, seaming, and present inspiring layout ideas. This block is so simple but packs a real design punch! In one session, you can create enough 2x4 blocks to be well on your way to making a charming baby quilt or throw sized quilt!

While prior patchwork experience is not required to take this class, you must be comfortable threading and operating a sewing machine. Don't know how to use a sewing machine? Take our Sewing Machine Basics class!

Required Materials (available in our shop):

  • 6-8 fat quarters (18x22") of print or solid fabric for the baby quilt; 20 fat quarters for a throw-sized quilt. Any combination of contrasting fabrics is good, and we suggest adding some solids help make the block *pop* (like in the example).

  • thread

Class includes:

  • 3 hours of instruction

  • Snacks & drinks

  • Use of our Janome sewing machines

  • Use of our cutting and marking tools

  • 15% all in store purchases before, during and after on class day (drop in a little early and let us help you pick out your materials for class!)
