We are thrilled to welcome the multi-talented artist and award winning quilter Melissa Averinos to Craft South for a weekend of her signature raw-edge applique class, Making Faces! Drawing on her lifelong experience as a painter and mixed media artist, Melissa will guide you to use fabric, thread and a sewing machine as art supplies. You'll learn the basic facial proportions, experiment with simple ways to create features in fabric and try out stitching options to finish your work. Melissa's warm and engaging teaching style will help you let go and have fun as you embrace the texture and ease of raw-edge applique. No drawing experience necessary! Melissa will bring her own beautiful examples for you to see up close!
