Sewing Basics- Tote Bag

Sewing Basics: Pom Pom Tote

Thursday, January 19th, 6-9pm

Spend 3 hours with amazing sewing teacher and all around good girl Amanda Hall, and end the evening with a charming tote bag that has a wooly pom pom sidekick.  The pom pom is optional but learning the basics of accurate cutting and seaming for this fun and functional tote is pure destiny.  This is a great class if you are a total beginner or just need a refresh at the sewing machine.

Class includes:

  • 3 hours of instruction
  • Use of our cutting, marking, and measuring tools
  • Use of our Janome sewing machines & thread
  • Water & Snacks
  • 15% off all your materials on class day

Please bring the following materials (come to class a little early so we can help you pick them out!):

  • 1/2 yard of 44" wide woven fabric for outer tote
  • 1/2 yard of 44" wide woven fabric for tote lining
  • 1 yard of medium weight interfacing (we like ShapeFlex or Pellon 809!)
  • 1 1/3 yard canvas strapping for straps
  • Any yarn you like for pom pom (we'll have plenty of yarn scrap to share if you don't have any)
